One of the Canadian airlines serving the Ottawa International Airport is extending the suspension of all of its flights by another month until July 29.
Porter Airlines chief executive Michael Deluce says the ongoing uncertainty due to government travel restrictions, including border closures, is impacting the airline’s ability to operate flights.
The airline stopped flying on March 21 as travel restrictions due to the pandemic ramped up and caused a sharp drop in demand.

Earlier this month, Mark Laroche – the president and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority – said he expected to see a modest uptick next month in domestic flights serving the nation’s capital as airlines start to restore some routes. However, he cautioned that there were “no guarantees” and that airlines could choose to cancel flights in June if bookings are insufficient.
