Samsung has officially approved the You.i Engine as a solution for developing apps on its Tizen TV operating system, opening up a new marketplace for Kanata-based You.i TV.
You.i TV develops video experience apps across Apple, Android and Amazon Fire TV platforms, to name just a few. Customers include broadcasters such as Corus Entertainment and Time Warner, the latter of which lead You.i TV’s $12 million series-B funding round last year.
You.i TV chief executive Jason Flick said in a statement that the ability to develop on Samsung’s interactive and Smart TV platforms expands the firm’s market reach and the capabilities of its clients.
