A Cornwall manufacturer that provided key parts for thousands of ventilators during the COVID-19 crisis is getting a $1-million funding boost from the federal government to further ramp up its production capacity.

SigmaPoint Technologies says it plans to use the loan from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario to add to its team of 370 employees and acquire real-time analytics technology that will help eliminate bottlenecks and speed up the manufacturing process.

The company says the new technology could boost its output by as much as 50 per cent.
