Walmart Canada has invested in a state-of-the-art warehouse order fulfillment system at it’s distribution centre in Cornwall.
“We’re incredibly excited to be modernizing our supply chain in Cornwall and across the country,” said Horacio Barbeito, president and CEO of Walmart Canada in opening the facility last week. “Cornwall is an integral part of our supply-chain network and we’re committed to providing jobs and opportunities to this valuable community that we’ve proudly called home for 27 years.”
Walmart says the $20-million investment will improve its supply chain and “future-proof the organization” by giving its employees access to leading technologies and related training.

Cornwall Mayor Glen Grant said the investment will support Walmart’s more than 2,000 employees who “work hard every day to bring much needed goods to Canadian families.”
Walmart’s Cornwall distribution hub includes two large buildings, the Harmony Distribution Centre and the Regional Distribution Centre. Each measuring 1.5 million square feet, the buildings are located in the Cornwall Business Park. The Harmony warehouse handles fresh produce, dairy and meat products.
Together, the Harmony and Regional warehouses handle more than 500,000 packages a day.
