GETIT’s pandemic pivot to deliveries leads to rapid uptake among Ottawa restaurants

When COVID-19 sidelined the in-seat food delivery app Stadiyum last year, developer GETIT Technologies returned to its playbook.

In January, GETIT Technologies launched a new custom-mobile ordering platform called Getit Local that challenges competitors like Uber Eats and SkipTheDishes by operating without charging local restaurants the typical 30 to 35 per cent fee on delivery orders.

Three months in, interest in the app suggests GETIT Technologies may have found a winning play here in Ottawa, as well as other markets.
