Council has given a local real estate firm the green light to construct a six-storey apartment building in the Glebe.
The proposal from JB Holdings calls for a midrise building with 49 rental units on the south side of Pretoria Avenue between Metcalfe Street and Queen Elizabeth Driveway. The property at 24-30 Pretoria Ave. is currently occupied by a pair of single-detached dwellings and a two-storey semi-detached home.
Forty of the units will be one-bedroom suites, with the rest split between two-bedroom and studio apartments. Underground parking will provide space for 18 vehicles. The development will also include a communal patio area in the backyard.
