A family-owned cleaning company that’s been a fixture in the capital for more than half a century is now owned by a B.C. firm.
Vancouver-based Alpine Building Maintenance said Tuesday it’s acquired Ottawa’s Domus Building Cleaning Co. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1969, Domus employs more than 400 people and has customers throughout the National Capital Region. In a statement, Domus officials say the deal gives the Ottawa firm an “excellent opportunity to continue to grow and find innovative new approaches” to serving its customers.

Alpine Building Maintenance, which is also a family-owned enterprise, is the country’s fourth-largest janitorial service.

We’re going to learn a lot from each other.”
