Federal government funding will help see to completion a new residence for homeless and at-risk youth in Ottawa.
On Wednesday, the feds announced a $3.12-million contribution to the Youth Services Bureau’s new four-storey, 39-unit affordable housing complex at 2887 Riverside Dr. Each unit in the new facility will have affordable rents.
First proposed in 2017 and already under construction, the $9-million project has also received $5 million in funding from the City of Ottawa, according to YSB, with the remainder raised from private donors. The federal government’s contribution comes through the National Housing Co-Investment Fund, a promise from the 2018 budget.
