Trinity Development Group is gearing up for a new development on heritage land in the heart of Westboro.
Details are currently sparse for the proposed building at Richmond Road and Island Park Drive – a heritage-designated property currently occupied by a gas station – but a page on Trinity’s website shows a rendering of the development and an opening date of 2022.
Trinity has yet to file any planning applications with the city and declined to comment to OBJ until it had done so. The group will need to obtain council approval for any development on the site in accordance with the city’s heritage conservation rules. The gas station is on the City of Ottawa’s heritage watch list of vacant historic buildings deemed to be at risk.

The three forthcoming mixed-use towers on Albert Street, stretching as high as 65 storeys, have been at the crux of conflicts between Trinity and partner Capital Sports Management in the redevelopment of LeBreton Flats.
