James Armstrong, the Ottawa International Airport Authority’s vice-president of security, emergency management and customer transportation, was named security director of the year by Canadian Security Magazine. The awards program is judged by a panel comprised of the magazine’s advisory board.
BMO honoured three women leaders at the BMO Celebrating Women program event. Celebrating Women recognizes female leaders in their communities as part of the bank’s commitment to the advancement of women. Honourees include Marina Kun, the owner and president of Kun Shoulder Rest Inc., who won the Innovation and Global Growth award. The Community and Charitable Giving award went to Francine Whiteduck, the founder of Whiteduck Resources Inc. The Expansion and Growth in Small Business award was given to Anna Belanger, owner of Anna Belanger and Associates.
The Hydropothecary Corp. has been awarded the Coup de Coeur Award at the inaugural Québec Employment Creators Award. The awards are given annually to honour major job creators in Quebec and its 17 administrative regions.
