Kinnect Ottawa: Our Family and Our Legacy
Open to All Members and Guests — Join us in Ottawa to find out what it takes to carry a family enterprise across three generations — and keep both the business and the family thriving.
Don’t miss this intimate conversation with the family behind Regional Group, one of Canada’s most enduring family enterprises. Founded in Ottawa in 1958 by Len Potechin as Regional Realty, the company has grown into an integrated real estate development platform including The Regional Group of Companies, eQ Homes and Cliffbrake Corporation, all while remaining firmly in family hands. Today, Sender Gordon serves as the third generation of family leadership, President & CEO, following in the footsteps of his father, Executive Chairman Steve Gordon, who led the firm for nearly four decades.
Named National Family Enterprise of the Year in 2019, the Regional Group story is one of legacy, reinvention, and intentional stewardship. In this session, the family will share candid reflections on:
- Navigating leadership succession from one generation to the next
- Balancing family values with business growth and professionalization
- Preserving a founder’s legacy while empowering the next generation to lead differently
- The role of community, purpose, and giving back in sustaining a multi-generational enterprise.
Whether you’re a family business owner, a rising-generation leader, or an advisor to enterprising families, this conversation offers practical insight and inspiration for your own family’s legacy journey.
