Community leaders, supporters and health care advocates gathered Sept. 15 to celebrate the people, research and innovation shaping the future of health care in Ottawa, raising more than $480,000 for The Ottawa Hospital in the process.

Co-hosted by Lisa Setlakwe of Transport Canada and Taryn Gunnlaugson of BMO Private Investment Counsel, the event featured remarks from Dr. Sony Singh of The Ottawa Hospital’s Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Newborn Care.

The Ottawa Hospital President and CEO Cameron Love highlighted how innovation and patient-centred care are transforming health care in the region.

Guests also heard powerful stories of hope and resilience from Ted Wagstaff and Danika Fleury, who shared personal experiences of how compassionate care, advanced treatments and research can change lives.

Tim Kluke, president and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation, spoke about the potential of investment in health care to create lasting impact for future generations.

Finally, Dr. Rebecca Auer underscored the importance of research, highlighting The Ottawa Hospital’s role in developing innovative treatments and advancing medical discoveries that can improve patient outcomes.
