An Ottawa clean-tech firm has secured a million-dollar deal for mine-water treatment at a remote site in northern Quebec.
BluMetric Environmental (TSX-V:BLM) will provide an unnamed “major global mining company” with a contained water treatment system.
The unit is especially suited to the difficult conditions of Quebec’s north, the company says in a release.

We have brought to bear every aspect of our company from field experience, research, engineering, finance, and customer service in this instance,” BluMetric CEO Roger Woeller said in a statement.
BluMetric blamed a dip in its most recent quarterly revenues on project delays, but the firm has seen a turnaround under Mr. Woeller’s leadership. A spate of multimillion-dollar contracts in Canada’s northern communities have contributed to two straight years of profitability.
Mr. Woeller announced in June that he’ll step down from the company, but he remains in the CEO role while BluMetric’s board of dIrectors seeks a suitable replacement.
