Hot on the heels of its very successful 101 Things to Do campaign, the Preston Street Business Improvement Area (BIA) has just launched a new program for 2017. Dubbed Meet Me on Preston, it’s a series of monthly event calendars which will highlight the diverse and enticing possibilities for recreation, leisure, entertainment, shopping, dining and more available in and around Ottawa’s Little Italy.

“We’ve got top-notch theatre, virtual reality, live music, comedy, karaoke and magic shows and new entertainment constantly being added.”

“Our customers are looking for a unique, authentic experience,” explains Lori Mellor, executive director of the Preston Street BIA. “When we started to compile ideas for our 101 Things to Do project, we realized that many people, including those in Ottawa’s business community, were not aware of just how much Little Italy has to offer. Meet Me On Preston will showcase  the fact that while our vibrant neighbourhood has long been known for its great restaurants and cafés, there is just so much more happening on or near to Preston Street. Plus, our district is easily accessed by car, transit or bike, making it simple for people to get here and enjoy all that Little Italy has to offer.”

Given its central location, Preston Street is the ideal destination for an interesting business lunch or dinner. “We’ve got top-notch theatre, virtual reality, live music, comedy, karaoke and magic shows and new entertainment constantly being added. Combining any of these activities with a meal, drinks or dessert makes for an unforgettable experience whether you’re thinking about staff team-building or a customer appreciation event,” notes Mellor. “Plus we are in the middle of all the action for Winterlude, the Tulip Festival, Italian Week, Bluesfest and more.”

Watch for a new Meet Me on Preston calendar every month this year in the Ottawa Business Journal. The calendar will also be available online at www.prestonstreet.com.
