Haig leaves president, COO role with BluMetric

David Haig’s stint as president and chief operating officer of Ottawa’s BluMetric Environmental was a short one.

The company issued a brief statement late Thursday announcing Mr. Haig’s departure just under eight months after he was appointed to the position.

His duties will be assumed by CEO Roger Woeller on an interim basis.

“We have been steadily restructuring BluMetric to drive our strategic plan, and we are encouraged by the progress evidenced by the positive results of the past five quarters,” Mr. Woeller said in a statement.

“We wish David well with the next phase of his career.”

Mr. Haig came to BluMetric in July after a 20-year career in advisory roles in both the public and private sector. He maintained his CEO position with Soellingen Advisory Group while a member of BluMetric’s executive team.

When his appointment was first announced, the company said he had the experience and contacts to help the firm grow.

BluMetric released fiscal 2016 first-quarter results earlier this week that showed higher revenue on a year-over-year basis. Net income, however, was $16,000 compared with $141,000 in the same quarter last year.
