Edgewater Computer Systems announced Monday it is receiving $2.7 million through the federal Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative.
The repayable contribution will go to develop technology to modernize and extend the lives of military aircraft computing systems.
“Edgewater is very pleased to have been awarded a contribution through the Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative,” company president Duane L. Anderson said in a statement. “This contribution, along with support from the Industrial Technologies Office of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, further demonstrates this government’s strong commitment to small and medium-sized businesses in the military, aerospace and defence industry.”

The company, which has provided wireless and wired multi-channel networking technology and computing products since 1988, said it expects to grow as a result of opportunities that will come from the investment.
