Ottawa employees will not be included among the layoffs announced this week at multinational defence firm Lockheed Martin, a company spokesman said Tuesday.
The company, which employs around 250 people in Ottawa, said last week it planned to lay off 600 people in its mission systems and training division.

However those changes will not directly affect its operations in the capital, said Keith Little, Lockheed Martin’s spokesman.
“It was only affecting U.S.-based employees of our mission systems and training business,” he said.
Lockheed Martin’s Canadian headquarters are located in downtown Ottawa.
