Ottawa-area firm PiiComm acquires Sibyl Groupe

One of the fastest growing companies in the region just became even larger, thanks to its purchase of a Montreal-area IT services and software development firm.

PiiComm has been a fixture in recent years on the Profit 500, a list of Canada’s most rapidly growing companies, and posted two-year revenue growth of 139 per cent in this year’s edition.

On Wednesday, PiiComm – which is based in Alfred, approximately 70 kilometres outside Ottawa – said it was buying Montreal-area firm Sibyl Groupe Conseil.

The two companies are no strangers to one another and have collaborated for many years, PiiComm said.

“With this newly combined team, we will be stronger and better positioned to provide clients with innovative solutions by developing the products and services of tomorrow,” PiiComm CEO Shawn Sicard said in a statement.

Founded in 2007, PiiComm helps enterprise customers track and management mobile devices such as computers, printers and barcode scanners. This, in turn, enables the company’s clients to reduce their operating costs and increase productivity, PiiComm said.

The company opened an Ottawa office earlier this year, its third in the region.
