The federal government says it’s the most complex rehabilitation project ever undertaken on Parliament Hill.
The West Block is in the midst of an $863-million facelift that involves repairing stonework, replacing electrical equipment and reinforcing the building to withstand an earthquake, among other elements.
Additionally, a new glass roof is being installed to cover an inner courtyard that’s being converted into the House of Commons chamber.
