An annual Canadian commercial real estate conference is going to come to Ottawa for the first time since 9/11, providing an opportunity for local builders to showcase their work, says one organizer.
BOMEX 2012, which is the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Canada’s national conference and exhibition, will be held in Ottawa Sept. 11.
The local BOMA chapter expects about 250 delegates at the conference, with half of those coming from outside of the city.

“We’re expecting a lot of our members to get a chance to reconnect with other chapters and their peers in Ottawa,” says Pierre Azzi, president of BOMA Ottawa.
One of the showcase events will be a tour of commercial buildings in Ottawa with unique features. Mr. Azzi was not able to release a list of the participants.
The event’s trade show space, with 77 booths, is already sold out and will showcase the latest technologies available to commercial builders.
Additionally, delegates will have a golfing tournament and gala night for networking opportunities.
