Ottawa developer Minto received an endorsement Tuesday from a committee of city councillors to build an eight-storey condominium its proposed for a growing neighbourhood east of downtown Ottawa.

The city’s planning committee voted to rezone the land at 19 Beechwood Ave., close to MacKay Street, to make way for the development. The building will replace another structure that fire partially destroyed in early 2011.
