The #TelferForWomen (#TelferPourElles) Women’s Rights Awareness Event, hosted by the Telfer Competitions Committee in support of Amnistie internationale Canada francophone, took place on Oct. 24 at University Square (UCU). Designed to mobilize students, allies, and community members, the event spotlighted systemic barriers faced by women and promoted active allyship through bilingual and inclusive engagement. Participants explored food trucks (donating 10 per cent of proceeds), interactive booths, and creative stations. Activities included poster-making, a t-shirt installation titled “Your Voice Is On The Line,” and the “Take a Step Forward If” simulation, which illustrated inequities in education, safety, and work. The event culminated in an awareness walk across campus, carrying the posters and t-shirts created earlier. The event emphasized empathy, intersectionality, and long-term impact by amplifying voices. It was a powerful call to action: sparking conversation, igniting change.

A local food truck, La Troca by Si Señor, joined the event to serve delicious comfort food — generously donating 10% of their sales to support the cause
