Bridgehead’s revenues continued to perk up in the second quarter as the Ottawa-based coffee retailer posted sales gains of more than 25 per cent compared with a year earlier.
In financial filings this week, parent company Aegis Brands said Bridgehead posted revenues of $4.07 million for the three-month period ending June 25, up from $3.2 million the previous year.
The chain said it has reopened all of its coffeehouses in the National Capital Region and recently launched a new licensed location at Ottawa International Airport. Overall, coffeehouse sales rose 29 per cent year-over-year to more than $3.6 million in the second quarter, while same-store sales increased 17 per cent in the same period.

Meanwhile, revenues from wholesale operations rose more than 11 per cent to $309,000. E-commerce sales fell to $130,000 from $153,000 the previous year.
Bridgehead recently began selling its products in 32 Longo’s supermarkets across Ontario, expanding a network that already includes more than 130 stores, including Costco, Farm Boy, Sobeys and Whole Foods locations in the province.
