Ackroo recently announced Perkins Canada has selected the Ottawa firm as its gift card and loyalty rewards solutions provider for nine of its 17 franchised restaurants across Canada.
Hulse, Playfair & McGarry announced recently it has expanded to Winchester with the acquisition of Daniels Funeral Chapel. The chapel will now be known as Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, Daniels Chapel, and former owners Jim and Mona Daniels are staying on with the company.

AirVM’s AirSembly software was selected for its ability to help service providers speed up delivery of cloud services to their customers and increase operational efficiency.
QNX recently announced a technology partnership with AdasWorks, a startup developing artificial intelligence-based software for automated driving. The companies are porting several AdasWorks functions, including lane detection, moving-object detection, and object classification, to QNX OS platforms. The goal is to create a software foundation for intelligent, multi-camera systems that enable automated driving by providing a 360-degree view of the area around the vehicle.
QNX also announced a new technology partnership with software development service provider Luxoft. The partnership will see Luxoft use its road-model computer vision algorithms for object tracking to bring a road scene reconstruction engine to QNX’s OS platform.
Data movement technology provider Solace Systems recently announced a partnership with MindCraft, an Indian firm that provides integration, business intelligence and software infrastructure management solutions. MindCraft is establishing a Center of Excellence in Mumbai to train consultants on the use of Solace’s technology and develop packaged Solace-based solutions for the banking, insurance, financial services, pharmaceuticals and telecommunications sectors.
Solace also announced a recent strategic alliance with analytics firm DataTorrent. Solace’s technology will allow large amounts of data to stream into DataTorrent’s analytics platform, giving companies the power to take action in real time and drive greater business value from their data.
WiLAN announced recently Vertu Corporation has entered a multi-year license agreement to WiLAN’s wireless patent portfolio including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HSPA and LTE-related technologies. Terms of the deal were not released.
The Ottawa Senators recently extended its partnership with StubHub to include ticket barcode integration. The new agreement makes the Senators the first Canadian sports franchise to allow ticketholders to resell their tickets on StubHub. Buyers get added security as well as new barcodes are issued when the tickets are sold.
