A 50-year-plus family business is branching out from its corner of Ottawa, as Westboro Flooring & Décor has announced the acquisition of a Kingston firm.
Effective today, the Ottawa firm says it has purchased Kingston’s Grant’s Tile & Flooring and will run local operations in the area. In a release, the company says the expansion farther south reflects the flooring firm’s growth prospects in the province.
The family business has been in Ottawa for 56 years, with president Steven Kimmel taking over from his father Morris in 1995. Its staff of 65 make it one of the largest flooring firms in the region.
