As demand for intercity travel continues to increase, Via Rail is restoring several more routes in Ottawa and other cities suspended earlier this year in the wake of COVID-19.

Starting Tuesday, the passenger rail operator added one more daily round trip between Ottawa and Toronto, for a total of six trains between the two cities – three in each direction.

Via Rail is similarly adding an additional round trip between Ottawa and Montreal, also bringing the total to three train trips in either direction.

Across its entire schedule, Via says it’s restoring services to nearly half of its usual schedule.
