Shopify Inc. (NYSE:SHOP)(TSX:SH) just hit a milestone on the TSX: Effective today, the company is now trading with the ticker symbol SHOP instead of SH.
The “growth” in symbol apparently warranted a press release and now brings the commerce firm’s TSX ticker symbol in line with its NYSE counterpart. The company requested the change once it was permitted to use a four-letter symbol, referring to itself in the release as “a pioneer in the application of four-letter words to regulatory filings.”
“Shopify has already been going from strength to strength with the launch of multichannel offerings and our mobile efforts. And now, we’re excited to announce 100 per cent growth in stock ticker digits,” said CEO Tobi Lütke in a not-at-all tongue-in-cheek statement.
