Pythian, Willis College team up to launch new diploma program

An Ottawa-based tech company has formed a new partnership with a local career college in an effort to train more open source database specialists.

IT services firm Pythian will work with Willis College to design the curriculum of the new Open Source Database Advanced Diploma Program.

“Together we’re able to set our students up to succeed with the opportunity to learn critical IT skills that showcase their expertise, and then help them gain entry to the IT industry with access to employment opportunities,” said Rima Aristocrat, the president and CEO of Willis College.

Classes are currently scheduled to start in the fall of 2017.

“The Open Source Database Certificate is a great opportunity for students at Willis College to focus their training on a role that is currently in very high demand,” Pythian CEO Paul Vallée said in a release. “Pythian is proud to partner with Willis College, a like-minded organization that supports education, skills training and development, and especially gender diversity in the technology sector.”
