After landing a high-profile new CEO earlier this fall in former Halogen Software boss Les Rechan, Kanata’s Solace has further bolstered its leadership team with a trio of veteran tech executives.
The firm announced it has hired Paul Fitzpatrick as executive vice-president of business development, Alex Kilgour as chief legal officer and Mychelle Mollot as chief marketing officer. They bring a total of more than 60 years’ experience to the executive suite at Solace, which develops technology to improve the speed of data transfers via hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
“Solace is focused on expanding to new markets and industries, which starts with leadership,” Mr. Rechan, who joined the company in September after two years as chief executive at Halogen, said in a news release.

A graduate of Western University’s Ivey Business School, Mr. Fitzpatrick has held a variety of senior leadership roles with enterprise software companies over the past two decades. Before joining Solace, he worked alongside Mr. Rechan at Halogen, where he was chief marketing officer. He also held several marketing posts at Cognos and IBM.
Mr. Fitzpatrick now heads Solace’s global partnerships, channels and strategic alliances programs.

Prior to joining Solace, Mr. Kilgour was a partner in the Ottawa office of global law firm Dentons, where he advised technology companies and their investors in corporate finance, governance, M&A and IP licensing. He will lead Solace’s legal and HR teams in addition to serving as secretary of the company’s board of directors.
Ms. Mollot has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and communications at enterprise software firms, including stints at Cognos, IBM and Klipfolio, where she served as chief marketing officer from 2014 until earlier this year. She was recently named one of the top Canadian women in tech by online talent marketplace theBoardlist.
