Ottawa’s Gabriel Pizza is opening its first restaurant in Antigonish, N.S., with plans to expand to other parts of that province, as well as to New Brunswick, Newfoundland and P.E.I.

The Gabriel Pizza Franchise Corp. announced Wednesday that it has partnered with Doucet Developments with the goal of rolling out locations throughout the Maritime provinces.

“This partnership is a natural marriage of two strong brands,” said George Hanna, president and COO of Gabriel Pizza Franchise Corp. “We’re taking our extraordinary successful pizza concept and combining it with the high standards of Doucet Developments.”

“Working with the Gabriel team has been an absolute delight, not to mention their delicious pizza and other Italian fare on hand,“ said Doucet Developments president and founder Doug Doucet. “Having the opportunity to meet George Hanna and his dad Michael was a pleasure and we immediately knew they would be great partners for our first location at Nova Landing in Antigonish.”

Gabriel Pizza and Doucet Developments have more than 75 years of combined experience. Established in Ottawa in 1977, Gabriel Pizza is a family operated business that specializes in pizza and Italian food, with franchise locations in Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec and now Nova Scotia.

With more than 25 years of experience, Doucet Developments is a development and construction partner based in Atlantic Canada, with businesses spanning real estate development, construction services, property management, leasing and maintenance, as well as a retail and hospitality division.
