One of Ottawa’s primary focal points for social enterprises is on the move.
Roughly five years after opening its doors near Bank and Queen streets, Ottawa’s Impact Hub says it’s moving to a new location a few blocks east to the sixth floor of 123 Slater St. (map)
The organization is also dramatically increasing its footprint, leaving a 3,200-square-foot office to some 10,000 square feet that it will share with the Community Foundations of Canada.

The Ottawa Hub is part of a global network consisting of dozens of locations around the world and some 15,000 members.
Its focus is on supporting social enterprises, a business category that can be tricky to define but generally initiatives that “create the conditions for inclusion” in the areas of health, finance and education, among others.
Impact Hub also co-hosts the Ottawa Social Impact Awards, which this year honoured SuraiTea and Helping with Furniture.
