Crews from a local heavy construction company will be headed west this fall to replace a key connection between two southern Ontario communities.
The federal government recently awarded Louis W. Bray Construction a $14.87 million contract to build a new steel swing bridge on a roadway connecting the Town of Brighton and the City of Quinte West, according to procurement records.
The swing bridge spans across the Murray Canal of the Trent-Severn Waterway and is one of the four main routes connecting Prince Edward County with the City of Quinte West along the north shore of Lake Ontario, according to Parks Canada.
