Iversoft Solutions has acquired an Ottawa-based digital marketing agency as the firm sails past the revenue goals it set for itself at the beginning of the year.
The gaming and digital services firm will add marketing to its suite of solutions with its acquisition of ReSoMe. This is the second-ever acquisition for Iversoft, having acquired Jelly Smeared Games roughly a year ago.
ReSoMe founder Shawna Tregunna will join Iversoft and head up its newly formed digital marketing and analytics division. All of ReSoMe’s clients will make the move to the full-service Iversoft Solutions, as will all of the firm’s employees. Supplemented with a couple of extra hires, the new division currently stands at six people.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Iversoft co-founder and chief technical officer Vicki Iverson says the latest acquisition allows the company to expand into the digital marketing space and will give Iversoft’s clients a more “full-package” option for their services. Any application or project could now come with the option of a social media roll out, or any other marketing campaign from the formerly-ReSoMe team.
“The acquisitions allow us to add skillsets and additional services,” Ms. Iverson says. Bringing on Jelly Smeared Games gave the company more expertise in virtual and augmented reality; ReSoMe’s marketing experience provides the foundation for Iversoft’s new division.
For Ms. Tregunna, the deal was a chance to master the more technical side of marketing, which increasingly requires more sophisticated understanding of the underlying digital platforms.
“To keep competitive in the marketing space, that really meant a technology play,” she tells OBJ.
The acquisition took root from existing relationships between the two company’s executives. Ms. Tregunna had worked on projects in the past with Iversoft, and when she launched the Ottawa chapter of the Founder Institute back in January, she recruited Ms. Iverson and Iversoft’s Graeme Barlow as mentors for the program. Over that time, conversations began to turn to how their partnerships could be expanded.
Acquisitions are new for Iversoft, but Ms. Iverson says they’re part of a growth strategy the company has been executing on for the past 18 months. The nearly eight-year-old firm has grown from a headcount of eight to more than 30 today.
The firm told OBJ in January about its ambitious goal of triple-digit revenue growth this fiscal year, a goal that Ms. Iverson says has already been achieved. The company has also been eyeing a new location, hoping to move by winter.
