OBJ launches the 2022 Book of Lists with virtual event

The Ottawa Business Journal officially launched its 2022 Book of Lists today with a virtual event that featured interviews from business leaders in the Ottawa community.

The Book of Lists, an annual OBJ publication, provides a directory of local businesses with information vital to every CEO and business owner. The research in the Book of Lists allows readers to take a deep look at the local economy as well as local businesses based on numbers and categories that Google won’t be able to find – making it the ultimate tool for navigating business Ottawa.

Lisa Thibodeau, lead researcher on the project, spoke at the event about the work involved in creating the Book of Lists, calling the publication a “great summary and snapshot” of Ottawa business. The project features everything from Ottawa’s hottest neighbourhoods to over 30 sector-specific lists, with plenty of editorial content in between.

“Even in the age of Google, you can’t access the kind of information you’ll find in the book of lists,” said OBJ publisher Michael Curran.

Viewers received an inside preview of the Book of Lists as well as heard from some of the business owners featured in the publication. These leaders highlighted what their businesses look like today, two years into a pandemic, and what the future holds for Ottawa’s economy.

The event featured interviews with leaders from companies such as Boyden, 2022’s top executive search firm, Commissionaires Ottawa, Fenix, TCC Canada and OCOBIA. The live broadcast previewed the top five companies in sectors such as engineering and accounting firms, fintech companies, craft brewers and more.

Copies of the Book of Lists will be distributed to businesses in Ottawa over the next few weeks. If you want to purchase a pinted copy and have it delivered to your home or business, click here.
