Home builder Minto Communities Ottawa is returning to Stittsville with a new master-planned community of single family homes and townhomes.
Abbott’s Run marks Minto’s first development in Stittsville since selling out and completing its Potter’s Key community in 2019. Abbott’s Run is a much larger project, targeting the construction of nearly 1,800 new homes over the next five years.
The first phase of Abbott’s Run starts selling September 9 at the Minto Kanata Sales Centre located at 380 Huntmar Drive.
A medley of new home designs
To help meet buyer demand, Abbott’s Run offers one of Minto’s most ambitious product mixes yet, with plenty of new design options.
These include a new 28’ Single Family Home collection, exclusive to Abbott’s Run. These homes boast contemporary, spacious living across three stories; three to four bedrooms; two bathrooms; a one-and-a-half-car garage; and a base square footage range of 2,354 to 2,379 square feet.
Other detached options include Minto’s 36’ and 43’ Single Family Homes. Both collections feature refreshed floor plans, elegant and sprawling, with new exterior elevations.
As well, Abbott’s Run marks the first appearance of Minto’s new Executive Townhome designs. Homebuyers can expect more space (up to 2,300 square feet), new elevations, and up to six bedrooms for big families. The Wynwood Corner model also has a guest-suite option, a rarity for the category, unlocking a new purchasing option for multigenerational living.
Lastly, Abbott’s Run features new Urban Townhomes. These high-style, low-maintenance homes have three stories, three to four bedrooms, a spacious balcony, and a double-car garage. They promise to be a great choice for modern professionals, and young families.
The best of Kanata-Stittsville
Abbott’s Run is uniquely positioned north of Abbott Street, south of Hazeldean Road, and east of Iber Road. Homeowners will be able to enjoy the best of both Kanata and Stittsville, including immediate amenities on Hazeldean Road. The community is also close to Kanata’s tech sector, the Canadian Tire Centre, Tanger Outlets, and the many artisanal cafes and shops along Stittsville Main Street.
Many schools are nearby, too, with representation from the Ottawa Catholic School Board, the Ottawa Carleton District School Board, and the Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est. A future public school is planned for the community as well.
One of the hotter selling points of Abbott’s Run is that it will sit along a future LRT stop on Hazeldean Road; in fact, this partly inspired the community name. Abbott’s Run is an ode to the first steam train to pass through Stittsville, the H.H. Abbott in 1870.
It won’t just be the Light Rail keeping residents connected. The Ottawa Carleton Trailway, part of the Trans Canada Trail, runs parallel to Abbott Street, right beside the community. For those who love to walk, jog, or bike, this trail offers a scenic way to get around and explore Ottawa’s west end.
