The National Capital Commission announced Tuesday it has begun seeking proposals for what it calls the “most significant urban development site in Canada’s Capital” – 9.3 hectares of land on Lebreton Flats.
The NCC is also looking for proposals for “option lands” of an additional 12.3 hectares.
NCC CEO Dr. Mark Kristmanson called Lebreton Flats a “prime strategic location for a signature development.”

The NCC is encouraging developers to imagine a world-class, inspirational destination that demonstrates “design excellence and innovation.”
The invitation is step one of the process. Successful proponents will be short-listed and invited to submit a more detailed design complete with a financial proposal.
