A near-absence of large-scale commercial projects weighed down Ottawa’s construction sector for the second straight month, municipal records show.
The city issued 810 building permits in May for projects worth an estimated $148.83 million in total. That’s down 54.64 per cent year-over-year, but construction intentions in May 2013 were the highest for the month in at least the last six years.
