A locally based senior Huawei Canada executive is leaving the Chinese tech company as it faces growing problems around the world.
Scott Bradley, Canadian vice-president of corporate affairs, is departing after more than seven years as the public face of the company in Canada. Bradley had worked from the company’s Kanata offices.
Spokesman Jake Enwright says Bradley, a former federal Liberal candidate, will continue to assist the company as required as a special adviser.

In an email, Enwright says Bradley is “leaving to start the next chapter of his career journey” and thanked him for helping to grow the Huawei brand and public image and build relationships with government.
No explanation for what prompted his departure was immediately available.
On Friday, Poland arrested a Huawei director and one of its own former cybersecurity experts and charged them with spying for China. That comes more than a month after Canada arrested chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou at the request of the United States while she changed planes in Vancouver on Dec. 1.
