Ottawa’s Fight for the Cure certainly packs a punch in the battle against cancer.
The annual fundraising event combines white-collar boxing with a mission to support local cancer care. Founded in 2008, the annual charity event brings together local business leaders who train for eight months to compete in the ring, all while raising money for the Ottawa Cancer Foundation.
Now in its 17th year, FFTC has raised millions to fund supportive cancer care programs — services that provide vital emotional, mental, and physical support to those living with cancer and their families. Organizers say the initiative not only boosts community spirit, but also fosters deeper connections among Ottawa’s business community, all in support of a cause that has touches thousands of lives.
The 2025 event was a record-breaking success with proceeds of $1,250,836.
This year also marked an important milestone, as FFTC CEO Scott Whitteker announced it would be his final event. Local real estate entrepreneur Trevor Clark will now lead FFTC into the future.
