Five companies will have the chance to bid for a construction and redevelopment contract at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Infrastructure Ontario announced on Friday.
Bondfield Construction Company Ltd., EllisDon Capital Inc., M. Sullivan & Son Ltd., PCL Constructors Canada Inc. and Pomerleau Inc. have all been shortlisted for the job and will have the chance to respond to a request for proposals.
The contract is being awarded through a multi-step process that required potential bidders to prove they had the capacity to take on the project before getting the chance to make an actual bid.

A request for qualifications was issued in September.
The Heart Institute Cardiac Life Support Services Redevelopment project will see five floors, with 146,000 square feet of space, added to the institute. It also calls for 60,000 square feet of space to be renovated.
The project will be financed by the winning bidder through a public-private partnership.
The request for proposals is expected to be issued in Winter 2014.
