Early stage tech companies interested in three months of office space in San Francisco and the opportunity to pitch in Silicon Valley have until the end of the day Tuesday to register for the upcoming Fundica Roadshow.
Now in its third year, the tour hits Ottawa Feb. 18. It will stop at Kivuto’s office at 126 York St. in the ByWard Market.
The Ottawa stop is the first on the tour. The show will then head to Toronto before moving on to Halifax, Montreal, Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary and Waterloo.

Fundica.com matches entrepreneurs with public and private investors, and the roadshow is simply an extension of the work it does online, said marketing and partnerships manager Lana Tayara.
“We started it off three years ago. It was just really an idea that we had when a couple of the VCs we work with told us, ‘Hey, why don’t you do the same thing you do online?” she said.
Ms. Tayara said organizers typically select up to 20 companies at each stop if the applicants meet all the criteria.
“Quality over quantity,” she said.
Successful applicants will get five minutes to pitch, followed by an eight-minute question-and-answer session with the funding panel.
The winning pitch from each city receives office space in San Francisco and an opportunity to pitch to investors as well as additional prizes that include a cloud hosting package from CANARIE and SoftLayer and one year of QuickBooks for free.
Nuvyyo, a startup that delivers live television to any device, was last year’s winner.
In addition to the pitch competition, the Fundica Roadshow also offers what it calls RoadTalks, a series of free workshops that cover a range of issues of interest to entrepreneurs.
The event is an all-day affair, with registration at 8:30 a.m. The winning pitch will be announced at 5:15 before a networking event caps off the day.
