Nature-lovers now have a new way to explore Cornwall’s portion of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
Cyclists who want to check out the roughly 12-kilometre stretch of trail that runs through Cornwall along the St. Lawrence River can now rent bicycles at Marina 200, the city says.
Six bikes are available to rent and will be sanitized after each use. Rates start at $10 an hour including taxes, with a helmet, lock and map of local cycling trails also part of the package.

“Cornwall has the best part of the Waterfront Trail, offering over 12 kilometres of vehicle-free cycling with fantastic views of the St. Lawrence River,” Cornwall tourism officer Kevin Lajoie said in a statement. “As people get out to this summer weather, cycling offers an opportunity to explore our parks and trails.”
The Great Lakes Waterfront Trail runs more than 3,000 kilometres, starting on the St. Lawrence River at the Quebec-Ontario border and extending along the shoreline of Lake Ontario, Lake Erie and Lake Huron.
The latest offering is another step in the ongoing effort to revitalize Cornwall’s waterfront district. Last year, the city unveiled a waterfront master plan that included 77 different projects that were expected to take up to 25 years to fully implement, such as a new swimming area in Guindon Park, skating on the Cornwall Canal and a new trail system at Guindon Park for hiking, mountain biking and cross-country skiing.
