An Ottawa developer is planning to construct a pair of residential buildings at the corner of Carling and Woodroffe avenues, across the street from one of the city’s oldest shopping centres.
Colonnade Bridgeport has filed a rezoning application with the city for the property at 485 Ancaster Rd. The L-shaped parcel currently features several lowrise commercial buildings that would be demolished as part of the project. The iconic Golden Palace restaurant is adjacent to the property and not part of the proposal.
Colonnade Bridgeport is proposing a six-storey and 12-storey building for the site, primarily fronting onto Carling Avenue and containing approximately 230 residential units in addition to 10,000 square feet of retail space.
