Builder proposes mixed-use development for the Glebe

Milito Investments is asking the city for permission to build a five-storey mixed-use building at the corner of Bank Street and Clemow Avenue in the Glebe.

The development plan filed with the city calls for 321.7 square metres of retail space on the ground floor with 14 apartments on the other floors.

The plan calls for a step-down to three stories along Clemow Avenue, to create a smoother transition to the two-storey house next door. The northeast corner, away from both streets, would be stepped down to one storey to accommodate an existing elm tree.

The proposed building would be 17.2 metres tall, slightly taller than the current maximum height of 15 metres under the site’s current zoning.
