Local clean-tech company BluMetric announced Wednesday it has appointed David Haig its new president and chief operating officer.
The COO position, a new one at BluMetric, will see Mr. Haig in charge of business development and operations for the company.
“David’s diverse leadership skills, robust business discipline and successful track record will benefit all elements of BluMetric,” CEO Roger Woeller said in a statement. “David will focus primarily on driving improved operational performance while supporting sustainable growth.”

With a resume that includes executive positions at companies such as Bio-Fertilis and AgriMarine Holdings, Mr. Haig has the experience and contacts to help BluMetric grow, the Ottawa-based firm said.
In addition to his private sector career, Mr. Haig has held several advisory roles with foreign governments as well as the Canadian federal government.
