Ottawa-based Bluink won the FinTech Accelerator Pitch competition held last week at Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale, California.
The product development company won for Injector, its universal authenticator app that provides authentication and secure login support for any system.
Bluink CEO Steve Borza said he thinks the Injector app was successful because it provides a solution to a problem all in attendance has had at some point.

Mr. Borza said he was told the live demo for Injector helped secure the victory as it showed off its speed and simplicity.
“It resonated with the audience’s needs,” he said.
The pitch competition was part of the FinTech Expo, an event to culminate the three-month accelerator program. The program accepted 31 of 864 applicants. All 31 pitched to a crowd of about 300 at the event before Bluink was crowned the winner.
The win came with prestige, but no cash. Still, Bluink said it plans to use its win to convert interest into customers, and continue to accelerate its solution in the market.
