After almost 70 years, Arnprior Aerospace is set to close permanently in March, according to the owner of the facility.
The company made the announcement in late December. In a statement to OBJ, the company attributed the decision to “financial difficulties due to the economic changes within our industry” in the last few years.
“During that time, we have taken actions attempting to adapt to these new market realities but unfortunately these actions have not resulted in a financially viable manufacturing facility in Arnprior.”

The company did not provide details about how many workers will be affected. Arnprior Mayor Lisa McGee said she believes 60 to 70 employees will be affected, according to Inside Ottawa Valley.
The 165,000-square-foot facilities, which are located at 107 Baskin Dr. E. in Arnprior, are set to close completely by March 6.
Arnprior Aerospace, which was founded in 1954, describes itself as a manufacturer and supplier of mechanical structures for aerospace and defense applications.
On its website, it says: “The company put Arnprior on the map for aviation.”
