An Ottawa developer wants to construct an eight-storey building near Tunney’s Pasture that would include 75 residential units and a mix of office and retail space on the ground floor.
Surface Developments is proposing to build the project at 16-20 Hamilton Ave., across from the Parkdale Market. A parking lot occupies much of the site, with a one-storey light industrial building next door that is home to a union office.
The proposed development, located less than half a kilometre from the Tunney’s Pasture transit station, would also feature an underground parking lot with spaces for 63 vehicles as well as 40 bicycles. The plan also calls for about 2,250 square feet of outdoor amenity space on the roof.
