As contractors prepare to reopen West Block for parliamentary business, the federal government has signed a deal with a local firm to buy up to $1.02 million worth of ministerial furniture, contracting records show.
The contract with Gatineau office supply firm Totem Offisource covers some 49 pieces of wood furniture, including a 22-person “racetrack” table, various desks, eight bookcases and seven flagstands, according to the statement of work.
It does not mention which ministry will use the furniture, which is scheduled to be delivered in multiple shipments starting in December.
