CENX hires former Alcatel-Lucent executive to top-level position

Ottawa-based CENX announced Monday Andrew McDonald has joined its executive team as senior vice-president of product management.

Mr. McDonald, who has 24 years experience of setting product strategy and managing business divisions, comes to CENX from Alcatel-Lucent, where he was president of IP platforms.

“We are delighted to have Andrew join CENX’s executive team to lead our product management, marketing and business development initiatives,” CENX president and CEO Ed Ogonek said in a statement, adding Mr. McDonald’s experience and expertise will be “instrumental in guiding CENX’s product strategy.”

The service orchestration solution provider said Mr. McDonald will be tasked with “fuelling the ongoing success” of its solution in the lifecycle service orchestration market, which California-based Scott Raynovich of the Rayno Report predicts will be worth $2.7 billion by 2019.

Mr. McDonald said CENX’s growth potential and talented workforce attracted him to the position, not to mention the technology.

“It’s a combination of big data analytics with real-time visualization is a powerful tool,” he said in a statement. “I look forward to engaging with customers, partners and all stakeholders to identify future market requirements and deliver on those expectations.”
